Charlotte is an upholsterer and maker based in Hackney. With a background in Fine Art, she has pursued many artistic lines of work, choosing to re-train as an upholsterer as a way of utilising her strong practical skills, creative eye and attention to detail.
Inspired by the skill and craftsmanship of upholstery, Charlotte utilises traditional techniques to breathe new life in to pieces of furniture which might have otherwise been discarded.
Completing her Diploma in Traditional and Modern Upholstery at London Metropolitan University, she was awarded the Heico Award for original design.
Fascinated by the potential of materials and craft methods, Charlotte continues to explore how these can be combined to create new and exciting design aesthetics.
